I am in the initial stages of this site, so please pardon the mess.
I am concentrating on the content of the site first, and the fancy graphics will come later.

I have a rather strange conglomeration of hobbies.  I have a recently discovered green thumb.  My enjoyment of gardening is concentrated mostly on fruits, epiphytes (air plants), and a few ornamentals.  Computers have always fascinated me, hence my job in the computer field.  Finally, HO scale model trains are always a great way to spend spare time.  The Blue Ridge Connection is a great page my friend Galen has created featuring his model railroad layout.  If you look hard enough, you can find a picture of me.  I know a garden railway is inevitable, but I don't have adequate land or funds.

I live in central Florida, which has a very interesting climate.  I live on the northern edge of zone 9a. That means we have a few days in the winter that the temperature drops below freezing, and on rare occasions as low as 20 degrees. According to the master gardeners we receive an average of 250-300 chill hours.  Supposedly, I can only plant temperate fruits that require 50 hours or less chill.  I haven't figured out the explanation for that yet, but I am sure there is a good one somewhere.

I have recently discovered the benefits of plant exchanges.  I have compiled a list of the plants I have available to trade and plants I would like in exchange.  Feel free to email me with your prospective trade.

I have begun experimenting with JavaScript and have created some conversion calculators.
